Hello,

I’m kayla boland

  • I have experienced the power of a compassionate, steady presence in the midst of my own life’s storms and that’s what I hope to offer as a therapist: a safe, compassionate space to be yourself and move at your own pace.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked cross-culturally in nonprofit settings, where I learned the deep value of empathy, connection, and community. I also have experience working with youth and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and I bring a deep respect for each person’s unique story.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy a good cup of coffee, spending time with my husband and daughter, and making a sourdough loaf or two.  I love slow mornings on my patio, meaningful conversations, and being present with the people I care about.

If you’re considering therapy, I’d be honored to walk alongside you. Healing doesn’t have to happen alone—and you don’t have to have everything figured out to begin.

  • I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling from Providence Theological Seminary. I am a professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and am currently in the application process to become a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC).

My clinical experience includes working with youth and young adults, including those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), in both nonprofit and community-based settings.

    Credentials and Training:

    • Master of Arts in Counselling – Providence Theological Seminary

    • Professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA)

    • In progress: Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) designation with CCPA

    • Certificate in Narrative Exposure Therapy

  • My approach to counselling is grounded in connection, curiosity, and collaboration. I believe healing begins when we feel safe enough to be seen and heard—without pressure to fix or perform. As we explore what’s feeling heavy or uncertain, I’ll support you in making sense of your thoughts, emotions, and experiences with compassion and clarity.

I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches and tailor each session to fit your unique story, needs, and goals. These include:

    ·      Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

    ·      Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

    ·      Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)

    ·      Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

    ·      Narrative Therapy

    ·      Attachment Theory

    ·      Gottman couples therapy

If desired, I also integrate spirituality and faith into the counselling process, honoring whatever beliefs are meaningful to you.

At the core, my goal is to offer a warm, affirming space where you can make sense of your experiences and move toward healing—at your own pace.

Hello,

I’m courtney bell

  • My passion for being a psychologist started years ago through my own journey of seeking counselling. Having someone sit with me in my pain—no rushing, no fixing, just a steady, compassionate presence—was such a gift. That’s exactly what I hope to offer you: space to be heard, to reflect, and to move toward healing at your own pace.

In my everyday life, I love slow moments at home with my husband and our two little girls. You’ll often find us walking the neighborhood, browsing farmer’s markets, reading books, or dreaming up our next adventure. We love gathering people around the table for good food, deep conversation, and lots of laughter—and I’m usually holding a strong coffee or calm tea, depending on the time of day.

I’d be honored to hear your story and walk with you on your journey toward healing and wholeness.

  • I’m a Registered Psychologist and the founder of Compassion Culture Counselling. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Honours Psychology from the University of Manitoba and a Master of Arts in Counselling from Providence Theological Seminary in Calgary, Alberta. Before starting my private practice, I worked in a group psychology clinic in Calgary and completed my clinical internship and residency in the non-profit sector. I’ve provided individual, couple, family, and group therapy, along with parent coaching and support for families in foster care.

  • My primary therapeutic approach is Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), an evidence-based method that helps you build a healthier relationship with your emotions. Emotions are a natural part of being human and often point to deeper unmet needs. Through compassionate and collaborative reflection, EFT supports you in identifying, understanding, and expressing your emotions in ways that foster healing and growth.

    Common interventions include:

    • Open-ended questions

    • Empathic listening and validation

    • A compassionate, grounded presence

    • Gentle but direct feedback on unhelpful emotional patterns

    • Emotion regulation strategies

    • Reframing and transforming emotional experiences

While EFT is at the core of my practice, I believe each client is unique. I integrate a range of evidence-based approaches depending on your needs and goals:

    • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

    • Neuropsychology

    • Attachment Theory

    • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

    • Narrative Therapy

    • Solution Focused Therapy

    • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

    • Emotionally Focused Couples counselling

    • Gottman Couples counselling
